Whale Coast

A hearty breakfast helped overcome the hangover and, after a bit of hanging around we headed off with some friends to our next stop, Gordon's Bay.

We decided to take another spectacular coastal drive - heading to Hermanus with the hope of seeing some whales. We'd hoped to loop right round the bottom of Cape Hangklip and were shocked when we hit a dirt road at Pringle Bay but carried on regardless. Half way round the road closed and we had to turn back - I'm not sure the trusty i20 knew what had hit it.

No luck on the whale front - but Hermanus and the whole drive were both very pleasant. We probably would have stayed in Hermanus longer but our hangovers started kicking in and really don't mix well with the heat.

We braaied when we got back. Once again we were stumped by the licencing laws and couldn't buy any beers, so roped the the hotel owner in to nip to the local shebeen on our behalf.

Loving the braai-ing, there's so much more flavour cooking on wood compared to charcoal, but it takes bloody forever to be ready to cook on so we didn't eat until ridiculous O'clock. Good grub though.
