Where I stayed
Camping Igueldo
We went into San Sebastian early (for us) to walk up the hill on the peninsula before the full heat of the day. We took the 'slow and gentle' route and wound round the hill, getting great views of the beaches to each side, island, mountains, sea and yachts. At the top is a castle and atop that an enormous, blessing Jesus and also, as you would expect stunning views.
After that exertion we went for lunch in the old town on the Plaza la Constitution - where all the balconies are numbered from the days when it was the site of bull fights. We followed that with a wander around, admiring the ancient churches, eating ice cream and generally soaking up the sun and atmosphere.
