On the home stretch now. We stopped in Angers on our way to Le Mans. The whole city is fantastic and there are some amazing buildings - like something out of a fairy story. We ate our lunch next in a little park looking up at the massive château. A walk around and a little bit of shopping and we were on the road again.

North of Le Mans it is very agricultural and rural and pretty. We followed 'camping' signs through about five villages (different sites we think), found one with no-one on reception and a sign about seeing the 'secretariat of the mayor', thought about pitching up anyway then spotted the flies and thought better of it.

We ended up on a very pretty site with chickens and donkeys in a different village altogether.

We went out for tea and again drove through half a dozen villages before finding somewhere to eat - I though every French village had a bar or restaurant of some kind. We ended up eating delicious steak and Roquefort sauce and fillet Mignon in a really sweet little place before getting hopelessly lost on our way out again.

We got back just before the thunder and rain started - our first rain of the trip.
