We were up and out the door early in the morning and on our way to the Jack Daniel's distillery. The Jack Daniel's tour was a perfect start to our trip because JD is not actually a Bourbon, which gave us a good comparison to what we were going to see. JD filters their liquor though a special charcoal before it goes in the barrel which disqualifies it as a bourbon. The distillery is not part of the official Kentucky Bourbon Trail (we were still in TN) but it was worth the trip! We then went into the little town (Historic Lynchburg) which was very cute!  There we ate a traditional southern holiday lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding house.  The menu consisted of Turkey and stuffing, baked mac and cheese, JD bourbon sweet potato pie, fried okra, cranberries, and custard pie with JD bourbon whipping cream.

After the Jack Daniel's tour we went to see more of Nashville. We went to Vanderbilt (which was beautiful!) and then we went around the lower end of Broadway and the West End.  We then went to the Tin Roof on music row which was suggested by my same friend - it was brightly decorated inside and another great suggestion!

We were exhausted and had a very early morning the next day! Thanks to the time change we had to get up at 5:15am CST to get to the 9:30am EST tour up in Kentucky... good thing the hotel turned out to be quite nice!
