Okay, well today is my third on the ship. I am suprised by how fast I got used to the rocking of the ship. It is hard to tell that it is even moving unless you really pay attention. Yesterday was my first day of real classes(we had Global Perspectives on orienation day). I am not too big a fan of my classes. Global Perspectives is the class that everyone on the ship has to take. I swear that he taught us about the water flow around the world the first day then he just keeps reteaching us the same thing everyday. The only good thing about that class is that everyone has to take it, so all of my friends and i sit together and complain. That class also has guest lecturers, which makes it interesting. I really don't know how I feel about my intercultural comm class- one of our assignments is taht we have to stand up in the front of the class and tell say everyone's name. She says that is shows that we care. I think it's stupid, but whatever. My religion class was kind of boring. The hardest part about it is that everyone has been taking medicine so they won't get seasick, but now everyone is tired all of the time and everyone is falling asleep in class. At the activities fair last night I signed up to join a family at sea (you get an adopted grandparent/aunt/uncle on the ship that is either one of the senior passengers or a faculty member), I signed up for the dance club, I signed up for students of service, and I signed up for the programming committee... we want to do capture the flag! So things haven't been to exciting... well, we did find ice cream on the top deck for $1.50! We are closest to Greenland right now, but we are still really far away. We are currently five hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time and in the next two days we will change our clocks two more times. Well, i better go do some homework, considering that i was assigned over 100 pages of reading just yesterday!
miss you all!
thanks for the messages, mom, nikki and marina!... they are appreciated!
Love,
Alexis
