I had to be up at 6 this morning to catch the 8am train to Jakarta. To my delight I realized that I was in a non-smoking coach which in Indonesia is a great thing. A few people completely ignored the sign so I had to ask them to not stay near me but it was pleasant smoke wise for most of the journey. The heat on the other hand was fairly intense inside the train as we weren't getting much air. I think that is the reason why this journey felt really long although it was only 8 hours.
I got a rickshaw to the hotel but when I arrived there was no one there. Then a few people came and told the owner had gone out and would be back very soon. They managed to find out which room was mine and shortly afterwards, Elisabeth, the owner, arrived. She is so lovely, a real pleasure to speak to and also very helpful.
I stayed in the area for the evening, had a few beers and then went to bed.
