Where I stayed
Monteverde Backpackers Hostel
Pensiones Cabinas Hostel
Went to the La Fortuna waterfall with Lara and some American families by horseback. My horse (Rosita) was a complete donkey - very slow. The waterfall was amazing, long climb down and icey cold water. The horseriding was quite painful!
Got a burger and sat in some hammocks before getting a Jeep-Boat-Jeep to Santa Elena in Monteverde. It was actually Bus-Boat-Bus but still great. About 4 hours journey through some very rough roads. Met three Irish guys - Dave Delaney, Dave Boyce and Adam Kilbane - a Dutch guy called Roel (looked like Ruud Van Nistleroy) and an English girl called Becks. Also there was a californian crazy women called Krissy. They were all loads of fun and great people - Boycey was mental.
Me and Lara checked into Monteverde Backpackers Hostel - very quiet and sleepy compared to the Irish guys
Wednesday 23rd July
Checked into the Pensiones Cabinas Hostel in Santa Elena, where the Irish guys were staying. We all went on the zip lines in the morning. So much fun- the longest was nearly 800 meters. Also did a vertical one and a scary Tarzan swing.
Went to a slightly dull snake house and a slightly better frog house in the afternoon. I bought a hakisack, I was really desperate for a ball of somekind.
In the evening we went to a different bar and drank a lot of whisky. I chatted to a local for an hour in Spanish, somehow. Went to bed about 4am.
