April gets to show her designs in China's silk town!
After being invited in August by the director of Silk Town in Hangzhou to present my Holiday collection at their Annual Silk Town Fashion and Photo exhibition, I was busy designing and fabricating flying back and forth to the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur to get my collection ready to show in China. The show as a great success, but even better were the friendships I gained from the other 12 designers from Australia, Burma, Thailand, Phillipines, Indoneisia and of course my friend and designer from Malaysia. Hangzhou was so clean and beautiful. We had a busy two days with the show then we chauffeured around for a grand tour of the town like celebrities. We began with shopping in Silk Town..AMAZING fabric selection and the designers were in their element. Then the silk museum where a sample of collections were on display and to meet the officials of Hangzhou's silk town. You'll see all of the places we went, but three of the most outstanding were the romantic west lake, the 1,000 year old carvings in one of their many lushly green parks and taken to the most elaborate Theatre performance where even the seats moved in and out to make room for the hundreds of performers joining the stage during every act.
I have a few photos of my clothing in the museum and my announcement next to two of my 15 pieces that were showing. If you can read my announcement we should be friends, because this isn't the last time I'll be working with Hangzhou, China.
I was the only designer to use her broken Chinese on the stage :-)
Wish you could have been there. See you Spain hopefully! April
