Hello Family and Friends!

We miss you all! We're having a great adventure in Penang, Malaysia. We're in our third week here and it seems like we've been here for months. We have already seen more in two weeks than some that have been here for years. Including eating at every fine restaurant in town because that's the best place for a western meal. Alex has ventured out to Hawker stalls for lunch and his normal cost is .75 cents U.S. except yesterday when he accidentally ordered Prawns (shrimp) and no one told him that Prawns are a premium at a hocker stall and his lunch came to $5 US--outrageous. I'll have to send a photo later of one of his lunch spots. Me, I keep safe with Domino's, Nando's...well anything with the "doe" sound at the end works for me:-) Alex is truly enjoying his new position at Mot and he really likes his new associates. His only delima to date is finding an American style restroom;-) His drive is a little less taxing than it was in the U.S.

I'm busy getting the house in order and still working with U.S. for final business. I normally have time for a hike in the morning, a movie and nap in the afternoon, and shopping with my new friends. Today I have my first facial at the Leonard Drake salon in the mall--NEXT TO OUR CONDO...The best move yet.

We're off for a four day vacation this weekend in Kuala Lumpur to see the Pratronas towers and other sites and....it just happens to be FASHION WEEK in KL! What more could a girl ask for on her birthday weekend.

By the way, the holiday is Malayasian Labour Day. There will be over 100,000 additional cars and mopeds on the streets and our street here along the Malaccan Straight is the main stage for the parades. We will arrive back here Tuesday to catch a bit of the show from our 32nd story balcony. Scary...but great for storms--photo below.

I'm studying Malay and Mandarin Chinese and one is easy and one is difficult...I don't have to tell you which:-) Alex is picking up Malay quite well from daily use. He loves the language; it's phonetic. Also, I begin HTML and FrontPage classes next month to learn to build our new website so I can share our adventure in an interesting style. Of course my software engineering husband won't be helping me, right. He will be teaching me as well and I just bet you'll notice some features that I couldn't possibly have figured out.

Have to run, my friends are here for a day of shopping and luncheon. o.k., I did wash the dishes today because the ama (maid) is off until Tuesday...oh well, I need a rest;-)

Love to all of you!
Come visit!! We love you and think of you often.
