So, its my first morning in Eindhoven. I survived the cold and the night to wake up to a pretty, sunny morning. I'm just about to head out the door to meet with Nora, at TU/e, Bert's secretary, and I plan on doing admin today (opening a bank account, buying a SIM card, shopping for the apartment etc).
I arrived yesterday afternoon, and after catching the train to Eindhoven (very easy from Schipol, there is a direct train every 30 minutes) I walked with my 40 kg of luggage to the apartment. I had to wait for about an hour before the landlord arrived and showed me around. I started to get cold then, just standing still - it was 2 degC yesterday apparently.
The place is amazing - its very big, very warm (with radiators in the main room and the bedroom), and quite well equipped in terms of cooking gear/towels/toiletries/appliances. Its a 15 minute walk to the train station, and is pretty close to centrum I think (I haven't really explored yet). After doing a bit of shopping for dinner and breakfast I pretty much collapsed into bed, and slept all night.
Anyway, more news later on!
