At the moment I am looking out the window in one of the random coffee houses in Richmond, VA. Today it's snowing. A lot of people are making a big deal out of it, but I guess I would too if all I ever saw was two inches on the ground all my life. Being from the North East, looking at barely an inch on the ground is awesome. However, I am not here to talk about Richmond.
I arrived in Washington, DC, early in the morning. About six months earlier I had only driven through the Capital Hill area following along highway I-95. But coming into the massive Union Station by bus is a whole other experience
Another thing I noticed was that unlike in Philly, DC is way more spread out. When I needed a "bird bath" this is slang for taking a bath in a public sink, I could duck into numerous nearby private bathrooms. If I had to use the toilet I remember having to go a long distance before I could find a decent one, one that was not really dirty or the building it was in heavily guarded. The streets start and stop in many different directions making it confusing and frustrating at times, forget about using a GPS it will mock you constantly with the famous "re-calculating."
One highlight was the interesting people I met along the way. My friend who works at the Hyatt doing maintenance
The rest of the time I spent trying to feed, cloth, and spend time with the homeless of D.C. I will not speak much on this because I feel it is nothing special to help someone who is "down and out." I literally pasted out the little that I have, why??? Because people have been doing the same for me all my life
I want to thank two people...one is a good friend of mine John Hakizimana and the other is David Wedderburn. Both have made a significant donation to the Cause I have started called H.O.M.E., to help felons, single parents, alcoholics/addicts, and homeless transition into healthy, holistic lifestyle. Thanks guys.
And I want to wish you all of you nothing but Peace and Prosperity!!!
