Spent a few nights in Koh Phi Phi, turned out to be one of the most stunning places we've been. The main inhabited island, Phi Phi Don, is bascially two big limstone islands joined together with a small strip of land with a beach at each side of the strip. You could walk between the beaches in 5 minutes.

Phi Phi was hit badly during the tsunami and there were still buildings getting re built and a lot of rubble around. Also turns out that actually around 3000 people died here, so was hit very hard. Though there are still lots of places to stay and lots of places to drink, turns out to be a bit of a party island - totally wasn't expecting that - was great! Lots of really nice bars here all showing the world cup where they would have half time fire shows and one had a half time lady boy cabaret show, which (almost) put us off my beer. One bar had a thai boxing ring in the middle of it and thai boxers would kick the crap out of each other after the footie. Then after they had finished, the ring would be open to backpackers to fight (supposedly for fun) for drinks. This was hilarious! Guys going in best of friends and coming out enemies. The first fight was a bunch of backpackers from England and was all a good laugh until one of them burst his mates eye brow ring open and war started!

We also did a trip to Phi Phi Leh, another small island - this one uninhabited. Did some snorkelling and also went Maya Bay where 'the beach' was filmed.

On the final day we went for a walk upto the viewpoint to get a view of the 2 beaches, but unfortunately fell and cut open my arm. Wasn't too sore until the women at the hostel put alcohol on it and then ran straight after as she knew it would hurt. Bumped into one of the guys who worked on the boat trip, who was also one of the fire dancers, and he gave us some iodine for it. Thank you Nurse Pon! Man of many talents, though I'm now wondering if he was in the lady boy show....hmmm
