Today we went along to the reptile centre where I was got my pic taken with a big black headed python round my neck, fi was too scared. Also got to hold some other lizards, the only one I can remember the name of was a bearded dragon - no fiona jokes please.
Met a couple of funny blokes from Eastbourne at the reptile centre, Glynn who was backpacking and his dad Glynn who was over on holiday. Ended up going to the kangaroo recovery centre with them, which is run by one man who goes out and rescues baby kangaroos where their mothers have mostly been hit by cars. Sometimes he said Aboriginal people would give him a baby after they've killed and eaten its mother. Clever Aboriginal people I thought - making sure they had a constant line of fresh roos on the way. Was pretty amazing, this guy runs this place and looks after the roos as if he was their mother. Hes the only one thats allowed to feed them and have any relationship with them. Though he did let us hold them after they were falling asleep in their pillowcases (that represent the kangaroo pouch)
Ended up staying out for loads of drinks with the Glynns in a backpackers bar and rolled into the hostel about 4am, which resulted in a day in bed the day after. Can't handle it like I used to if I ever did.
