Today was our last day in Santa Fe and Lee took us for a tour of Santa Fe and a drive around where he works. He works in Los Alamos Labratory near Santa Fe. Its a government research lab and its where 90% of the US necleur weapons are stored so it was very well sceured. Had to show our passports just to drive near it. Passed all the armoured hum vees as we went in.
We then went to museum nearby about the labs and necleur weapons. Turns out that the Fat Man bomb that was dropped in Japan and ended WW2 was created in Los Alamos.
Michelles family owns a ranch outside Santa Fe and in the afternoon we went over therefor something to eat and a few drinks as they were all celebrating one of their cousin's baptisms. Was amazing to see a real working ranch in the middle of the desert. Got something to eat, stood by the fire and had a couple of drinks - was a good night. Afterwards we went back to Lee and Michelles for something to eat and watch the tele. Definately the best we've eaten since getting to the USA! Sorry Ronald McDonald.
Been really good to catch up with Lee and meet Michelle. First time I've seen him since uni - hopefully not the last!
