Arrived here pretty late at night. Place looks amazing at night, full of bars and blues clubs.
We went for a drink not far from the bus station where there was a girl singing the blues and playing the piano. Then headed upto the hotel, was really really hard getting a hotel in Memphis due to there being some big annual church meeting on in town. Stayed in a hotel 2 miles outside of the centre. No hostels here. Was pricey so we decided only to spend one night here.
Got up early on the 11th to head over to Graceland to see the King of Rock n' Rolls house ( no not Liam Gallacher - Jamie ). Think we were the youngest there. His house was as big as I thought it would be but was amazing. Will put up the pics of it soon. Didn't actually realise they were all buried there too. Met a couple of Scottish Elvis die hards there that were covered in Elvis tatoos.
Afterwards we went on the tram around the city. There really isn't actually that much in Memphis...beale street that is full of bars is probably the best part of it.
Went upto beale st and went round bars that were full of blue singers/bands and elvis impersonators. Was really good up there, a bit more pricey though but as Fiona is currently not drinking I drank for both of us. Took Fiona, the luckiest girl in the world, to Hooters - just to shut Scotty G the King 2002 up
Got the 10pm bus to Little Rock so we could catch the Amtrak. Currently the New Orleans to San Antonio service is currently off due to the hurricanes so we had to change lines on the Amtrak network.
