The arrival to Minneapolis and St. Paul area was very late at night on the 21st. Two day stay was very pleasant and left on the 24th in the morning.

This two cities are called Twin Cities. Very much like the twin cities of Ottawa-Hull.
Both have beautiful landmark architecture, urban greenways and lakes. Night views with buildings tastefully lit that left as both in awe.
Glenda was very struck by one of the tallest buildings lights. Specially the Target building. To appreciate it even a bit as we did, click below. If the link does not work, copy and paste it in your browser. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHNR2xauE5I Impressive to say the least. The upper floor contain a unique lighting display of 130 thirty-foot glass pipes that can be illuminated in any colour in any pattern. Light from 575-watt bulbs is shot through each tube and mixed by three color wheels representing the primary colours, and then distributed throughout the pipe by a unique film lining. It was developed by the locally-based 3M Corporation.

Mississippi, Minnesota and St. Croix rivers wind trough the metro area. This fact gives an spectacular view that no picture makes justice of. Both cities have classic and contemporary flavours. Also are voted as the best biking cities of the USA. Very good for those people that like to ride bicycles and that voted, but still... our butts are not quite prepared for such thing!
People in general are very laid back, polite, cheerful and as usual, - in almost all parts of USA - with a broad smile when helping.

The Mall of America is located in the City of Bloomington, almost within Minneapolis and St. Paul, and a 15 minutes away from either downtown. It aggressively markets their premier destination and brings in 42 million visitors from around the world every year. This mall is the largest shopping and entertainment attraction in all of the USA boasting 520 stores and fifty restaurants. Hosts an aquarium that has a tunnel 14-feet below the water's surface and you can as they say, "experience the sea as never before". It also has a South American rainforest that opened in spring of this year. Nearly 40 hotels offer a free shuttle service to and from the Mall. It also connects to downtown Minneapolis via subway. There is a big Apple store that caught my attention because is right across a Microsoft store that is as mighty as its competitor. McDonald's and Burger King have been using this concept for a long time. That is, to be within view distance of each other. It illustrates how fierce the competition is in this country. When it comes to business, no one gives an inch.

Few more videos of cool things sold in some stores to follow.
