Today begins our journey to the border area. We rode in a very comfortable air-conditioned fifteen-passenger van driven by our professional (and very personable) driver, Pi Jean. Kameron really liked the fact that the van was equipped with a TV, and enjoyed a couple of movies along the ride (Madagascar 2 and The Bee Movie). Our journey today was only about four hours, and took us to the small town of Mae Sariang where we checked into the Riverhouse Hotel for the night. We walked about a block to an open-air restaurant for a delicious Thai dinner, and then gathered back at the hotel for a team meeting. We sang a few songs, prayed for each other, and were reminded by Terry & Jocelyn that tomorrow begins a whole new adventure for us. We will have our first look at a refugee camp, and emerse ourselves into the Karen culture for a few days while we stay in the camp. We are all a little uncertain as to what tomorrow will bring, but are ready for the adventure.

We will enjoy our hotels beds this evening, as our sleeping accomodations will change to sleeping bags & pads under our mosquito nets tomorrow. Electricity will not be available to us for a few days, so we will be out of contact. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Eveyone is well, except Jocelyn who was battling a fever and achiness yesterday. The fever is down, but the achiness is being persistant. We have her on antibiotics and Aleve for this discomfort.  Enjoy your New Year's Day! We will be back in touch in a few days.

Blessings to everyone!
