Sailing into Surat Thani around 5am after a not too bad kip the few other foreigners on the boat and myself where rounded up and stuffed into the back of a songtaew big enough for maybe 6 people as the 8 of us plus bags breathed in to all fit. Then they picked up two more.
The bus to Krabi was near empty but typically that didn't stop someone plonking themselves down right in front of me and putting their seat as far back as humanly possible.
Being told it was a mere 2 hour journey to Krabi I was unsurprised when we arrived there around 4 hours later and also unsurprised but annoyed on realizing we had been dumped at a travel agency on the outskirts of town rather than the bus station.
Taking a chance and feeling too tired to go hunting myself I let them book a room for me which at least included a free pick up from the agency into town where I checked into a pretty cool place more hotel like than hostel.
After being hassled about what I was planning on going to do tomorrow but explaining I didn't even know what the heck I was gonna do today I waited for the rain coming down like cats and dogs to ease off a little before venturing out to check out the small town of Krabi.
There ain't much to it really being more of a jump off point for the islands nearby but I did at least manage to find a busy little market where I filled up on another plate of rice+unknown meat and veg as I wondered if I should be concerned when suddenly biting into something crunchy.
