Getting up at 4am didn't seem quite as painful after having to get up at 6:30am each day for school at least I was up for once before the resident rooster started his alarm clock even it does sound like it is in dire need of a good dose of Benylin.

The reason for the rooster beating wake-up was to make the seven hour journey to Chonburi to visit yet more cousins, brothers and sisters than surely one family could ever feasibly have.

Being glad I'd gotten used to long journeys on this trip (just hope it stays that way when I return home where anything over an hour took serious considering) the 7 hours journey passed pretty quick even after stopping to pick up Khoon Maa's elder sister to add to the road trip conversations as I got my first look a Thailand beyond the borders of Issan.

After visiting a sister, a brother, another sister and some cousins (I think) we headed into Chonburi itself to visit the market and the rather dreary looking beach front which under the grey cloudy sky resembled some kind of long forgotten seaside town back in Blighty, a long forgotten seaside town with 30+ degrees heat and palm trees that is. Did see my first elephant in Thailand though on the way here, a baby one being led down the side of the road as if they were just walking a dog with the others in the car taking little notice as I stared wide eyed at it.

We arrived back at one of the brother's houses were we would be staying where I continued to be fascinated by the apparently mundane and everyday things much to the amusement of the others as I wandered round taking pictures of the dragonfruit plants and checking out the huge field of sugar cane behind the house.
