I seem to be the only one besides the farmers who likes the rain here giving a me a small respite from the heat and a few strange looks as I step out into the downpour to cool off, but then I get strange looks all the time.
It would appear that the students are equally un-fond of the rain with the excuse they would get wet riding to school since they come by motorcycle even though most of them I'm sure are not old enough to legally drive them or even able to touch the ground when sitting on them.
The rain still didn't stop the morning flag raising though with everyone huddled in the sports hall looking out at the 3 poor soaked kids having to raise the flag.
Today also saw a parade at school but instead of some Thai cultural tradition it was for boy scouts. The same after school club as back home is taking way more seriously here with one day a week seeing all the students and teachers dressed in boy scouts or girl guide uniforms followed by the usual boy scout type activities after school. It was strange seeing something which originated back in Britain as nothing more than a club being treated with such reverence here.
