What actually happened could not have been further from that feared setup although there was still one or two long winded speeches by the director and even with not understanding what he was droning on about the kids faces said it all - boring!
Anyway the day was filled with dances, plays and even a lady boy beauty contest. I should say it is not uncommon to have a 15 year old boy at the back of the class putting on make-up but they are actually some of the better English speakers with not being embarrassed at all to try and speak English.
As much as I tried to understand I could maybe only understand a few words in every thousand so with the afternoon turning into a singing contest I decided to sit the 2nd half out and get another Thai lesson from Watchara as I attempted my most difficult cross cultural exchange yet. Trying to teach a Thai cockney rhyming slang.
