Considering the Thai minimum of having 2 showers a day, minimum, the fact running water can be a bit hit and miss here can get a bit annoying and tends to come down to how much the neighbours are using at the time with the luxury of hot water a mere memory, not that I've had a hot shower since China though. I'll leave out the whole not wearing the same clothes more than once, a pain when traveling with only a few sets with you and even more so when having to hand wash everything in nothing but cold water.

Anyway we scooted up to Maha Sarakham today, about an hours drive north, to meet Poope the daughter of the family who they kept confusingly referring to as my sister adding to the whole Khunmaa / Khunpaa thing.

Poope despite being only 16 spoke excellent English due to her attending an 'English' school in Maha Sarakham which in the brief time we visited offered me a teaching job for next semester, hmmm.

Even though we stopped for a big late lunch in Maha Sarakham at a Vietnamese restaurant (missed those fresh spring rolls) they still laid out an enormous meal for dinner back home begging the question how they can all stay so small when eating enough food to stuff a small elephant.
