I had quickly checked online the prices to fly to Beijing and saw the same price quoted as that which I'd been told yesterday. Undeterred and with the backpacker spirit of hoping to save a bit more dosh I shopped around a few of the many (about the only good thing coming out of being a real tourist trap) airline and travel agencies in town but they all gave me the same price as well.

Accepting I would have to fly I met Steven who said he would come with me to book the ticket but first we had to find a Bank of China to get some cash to do so (their still not big on credit cards here). After walking down what seemed like every street in Hangzhuo we finally found one about 5 minutes from where we started looking (typically we started off walking in the wrong direction) and I stuffed my pocket with a handful of Maos.

On finally booking the ticket the price was for some reason 120 CNY cheaper than I'd been told all day which certainly saw no questioning from me.

Steven then suggested we go visit Lingyin Temple which he assured me was back near the hostel and would not take long since I had to be up at 5am for my now booked flight. So about an hour later and dropped seemingly in the middle of nowhere at first we arrived at the temple but by this point had lost interest in actually seeing it so we just grabbed an ice-cream (the dead fly floating in the corn-on-the-cob water was a bit of put off) before getting on the wrong bus back to town.

So another hour later and again dumped who knows where again we walked a bit before asking someone were the heck we where. After a long conversation in Mandarin with plenty of pointing up and down streets and gesturing of turning a few corners along with nods of heads Steven then turned to me to say he had no clue where we were - I'll never understand the Chinese language.

A few more minutes walking however I realized we were actually very near the lake and more importantly the hostel. After saying goodbye to Steven I figured I'd better find out where the airport actually was if I had to be there at the crack of dawn.
