We took the train to Salzburg for a 2 night stayon our way to Italy. I had studied Salzburg and it appeared to be a very lovely city and it surely was. When we arrived it was raining like heck, but out we went anyway into the main square, which, even in the rain was beautiful. We climbed to the top of the citadel which overlooks the city and gave us astounding views of the river and mountains beyond. We visited the house Mozart was born in, and some of the sights related to him. There were Mozart looking guys all over town hawking concerts of his music, and beautiful parks and open areas, an oldish looking city (as opposed to Vienna, which looks new). At a local restaurant we met a couple from Canada and took a video of them talking about their town. I liked Salzburg very much, but again have no desire to return.
