We arrived in Rome and rented a car driving the 3 hrs up to Todi. My original intention was to stop at Tivoli along the way, but was too eager to get to Todi this time after the mishap the year before, when I took a wrong turn and wound up in Citta della Pieve, which was actually not bad anyway ! We arrived in Todi, drove up the steep road to our hotel, a lovely, small palazzo near the main square. Not certain where we parked, but it was always some distant location requiring convoluted directions and then a long trudge uphill back to the town. I recall a lovely town, also evidenced by photos showing narrow, charming, picturesque streets. We had started to do videos with the digital camera, and there is one of me apparently on the way up to the town, on a road with the town behind me. It is a very mellow experience strolling an Italian Hill Town, in mid afternoon, during the week (this time on a Tuesday), with virtually no tourists present. It was chilly, the only drawback of winter travel in Italy, and we are shown bundled up in winter jackets. As we were in the church, we met a couple from Connecticut, Allison and Paul, and they appear in a video we took of them during the dinner we all had together. We are still in communication with them to this day.
