Yesterday was my recently retired kid sister Sheila's 60th birthday. She's on some little island in the Pacific Rim at the moment, or is it Brazil. We can't keep up with her and our mate Dave. They have more three week long haul cruises than you can shake a Cassowary at.

I decided to celebrate by having a VB day while Chris made the breakfast, did the washing, hung the clothes on the line to dry, made lunch, cleaned the van and made our evening meal. In the words of the famous country song, "Sometimes it's hard to be a woman". By the end of the day I was absolutely shattered so Chris made the bed and I got into it. It's a hard life.

Today we drove to the lookout at Port Douglas lighthouse, a great view. We followed this with 3 hours of internet which included booking 2 nights in early Jan at the YHA central in Christchurch. We just need to arrange a vehicle now for New Zealand.

Wait!
A really great camping spot near where you are (sort of) is Elim Beach. Don't know if you have a tent.
Paperbarks on the beach. Imagine!

There's a nice old local guy who's the caretaker. It only costs ten dollars a night and he'll even give you a hand to catch some live bait.
