We arrived in Santiago at 8am after a 22 hour bus journey.....suprisingly spritely! We have to change some flights and do a few chores so head in to the centre. The city is clean with a mixture of modern buildings and grand old buildings lining wide six lane roads. We manage to take in most of the centre whilst doing our chores and even managing to have a sneaky McDonalds before heading back to the bus station (for those of you that will slate us for this it was all Alīs idea...but as his meals have consisted of Pollo al la Plancha (grilled chicken) three times a day for two and a half months it was a nice treat!)
In the several hours we were in the centre for we encountered three demonstrations...no idea what for but its always something political. We head back to the bus station for an 8 hour bus ride to Mendoza....we can smell the steak (or is it another burger Al has sneaked in to his rucksack).
