We have arrived, after an "uneventful" day of air travel filled with the usual barage of inconveniences: leaving the house before dawn, getting split up in re-assigned seats, and dealing with all little rudenesses along the way. If I could figure out how to pin a converging line on the map, it would show Mom and Dad's crazy frequent flyer itinerary: Tucson to LA to Houston to Fort Lauderdale. (At least it wasn't by way of China!)

Thankfully the Tucson contingent and the San Francisco contingent met at the Fort Lauderdale airport at roughly the same time, and from there the hotel shuttle brought us to a surprisingly decent dinner and now to sleep.

Tomorrow we plan to check out the Everglades, a destination Allen has been imagining for a while.

I hate the splitting up in re-assigned seats. It is especially annoying when the married couple are separated and surrounded by single travelers.

I grow more attracted to steam powered travel.
