Following on from yesterday's fun freebies Bill (aka the guy in the know) suggested Julie and I head out to the exploratorium http://www.exploratorium.edu/ (a rather huge version of Science Alive) as Wednesday is free day there. Conveniently the exploratorium lives at SF's Palace of Fine Arts (http://www.palaceoffinearts.org/) which Julie had been dying to check out and so off we tawdled.
As it turned out we got to the palace (which is near the Golden gate bridge) to find , sadly, that it was closed for renovation. Suitably bummed out we headed over to the Exploratorium and fought our way through piles of rather loud, exuberant american kiddies. Thankfully Julie and I were bigger than afore mentioned kiddies and therefore able to commander certain hands on experimental entertaining devices at the exploratorium and had rather a blast playing in the giant kaleidoscopes and with the silly mirrors. Hoorah!
And so the fun continued, as did we.. right on to One Eleven minna, a bar/art space with djs mixing good tunes in the background. It was a good chance to meet some of Julie's CS friends, one of which (Amypris) Donna had just been espousing her values yesterday and insisting I should meet her. Oh Happy coinky dink.
After minna it was on to a couch surfing meet up somewhere in the mission. I think I have been to way to many bars, cafes and restaurants now as the names of things are starting to escape me. Anyhooo.. it was nice, good to meet other csers, and the evening lead to Bobby deciding the whole world (practically) should marry him and Julie, though that might have been the beer talking.
