2 quic points before the fotos:

1) I visited Patagonia 10 yrs ago. This is one of those places that overwhelms you each every time. Around every corner there is a cooler peak, a bigger glacier, a bluer lake, etc. You must come here before you die!!!

2) Several of you screwed me when giving advice on hiking gear (ie Howley, Fairfield, Heneckes, Bobowski). The synthetic capilene material definitely dries quickly and keeps me warm, but this form fitting fabric is for the physique and lifestyle of marathoners like Tilson or Kilar - not for 35 year old love-handled sharfi's whose favorite foods are chicken quesadilla, cheesecake, and greygoose rocks.

Fotos:
A) Navimag - I took a 4 day 3 nite ferry thru Chilean patagonia from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales. Great scenery of snow capped mountains amidst shimmering waters.

B) Glacier Perrito Moreno (Calafate, Argentina) - incredible living glacier easily accessed in a well built park. Huge with amazing blue ice chunks - pictures don't begin to convey enormity of this natural specimen.

C) Cerro Fitz Roy (El Chalten, Argentina) - series of spires/towers jutting upward from ice fields amidst a back drop of glacier capped mountains. Simply amazing. A hiker's paradaise with many great trails in a Patagonian wonderland. Fitz Roy reminds me of the sight of the actual Torres del Paine (the towers, not the park). I did 2 hikes here which are amomg the hardest day hkes I've ever done (constant up and down over uneven rocky terrain).

Hike 1: Laguna de los Tres (lake at foot of Fitz Roy) - 2400 feet elevation gain, 7 hours roundtrip, starting from town with awesome views of valley, river, mountains, lake, and ominous Fitz Roy! Very very tiring.

Hike 2: Mirador Maestri - 12 miles round trip took 7 hours. Ends at face of Glacier Grande (name speaks for itself) and also has great views of Cerro Torre mountain range.

Akbar, love the new hairstyle, you're looking tan, fit and pretty damn happy. Great that you get in the shots, makes them much more significant. Give the state of FLA all my best!!
