I spent about 10 days in New Mexico, which is truly a memorable destination. Peter Howley & Oliver Koehler (sectionmates from b-school) and I started out at MalPais National Park a couple hours west of Albuquerque.
We did 2 great hikes: one on a lava strewn path with crevases left from volcanic activity, and we climbed Mount Taylor, which at 11,400 is New Mexico's highest peak. It was only a 2,500 elevation gain but these 3 old men were tired.
Pictures below are from these hikes and our overnite camping sites. DEFINITELY pencil in New Mexico as a 'must see before I die' destination!
