Our long flight from Atlanta to Munich came to a close in the bitter cold of an early morning. It is funny what a flight like that does to your body. Once more, I had convinced myself that sleep IS possible within the confines of at 18" x 24" economy seat, and once more I found myself disappointed, and left tired.
Dylan seemed to be the only one unphased by the flight; in fact he slept very soundly. Watching him, it conjured vague but pleasant memories of my own youth - times when things like a sleeping position was completely unimportant and comfort was alot more relative. I think I even heard him say he liked the airline snack. hmmm...
Anyway, We arrived in Munich and got our rental car (more or less our home for the next 12 days) from SIXT. They gave us a Hyundai Tuscon SUV, a really big car for these areas, but it will do nicely (as long as they allow it on the ferry we have booked to Italy).
In Munich, I bought a couple of maps, some coffee, and a bottle of water. At that, we headed out toward Salzburg, Austria.
