Whoa! Where has the time gone! This really isnt the most exciting travel blog.... but it really isnt the most exciting thing to do to sit in an internet cafe when I could be out exploring!
I have finished the yoga course... said goodbye to many good friends, most of whom are headed back to their respective homes in Europe and the States.
One good friend, Cindy, from CALGARY, invited me along on her journey to this little village called Jibhi, where I am now. She is trying to start up Himalayan Organic Travel... a tour company catering to those who wish to adventure in a small peaceful corner of the Himalaya, go on overnight or day treks, visit Organic farms, tour local schools, do yoga and meditation. She has a website you can google.
Anyway, we have been trekking... visitin temples at high mountain passes, crystal caves, little villages, 1000 year old forts from time of kings.
This area has some key families that run things and they hold environmental conservation as high priority. There is a national park near by, and even outside the national park you cannot cut down live trees, except 1 every 5 years!!
The valleys are filled with little villages, each of which will have a little school, where the little ones go in their bright clean uniforms every day.
Tomorrow is Mela... a big celebration for the deities, where people will get together and play drums, horns, flutes, dance and carry around these giant statues which also like to dance and move around at their own will!
I will leave for Manali today.. its time to leave this beautiful place... I have need for a purpose.
Plan is to go back to Dharamsala and do 10 day Buddhism course on the 21st.
Peace and love.
