. The waters were calm, the beach was sandy and clear, it was surround by coral with a backdrop of little islands and we had wild turtles swimming around us, awesome. We spend a few hours at this beach, then clean up and continue exploring the rest of the island. Ten minutes into our drive both the kids are out and sleeping. We cruise all the way up to the north shore and stop at a local Shrimp truck called Giovanni's famous for it's Shrimp Scampi, so we order two and the Garlic Lemon flavour smacks you in the face, but is was delicious. We continue exploring the North shore looking for some beaches with bigger waves, as this is where all the big surf competitions are held in Hawaii, our first stop is Banzi Pipeline beach and we find surfers everywere riding the waves, not as big as what I've seen as TV, still pretty big though. As the sun sets, we decide to head back to Honolulu which takes about 40 minutes from the north shore, but before returning to the hotel we stop at Leonards Bakery, a local favourite that makes Portuguese Donuts. We order six and clean them up and drive back to our hotel for our final night in Honolulu and our trip. I can't believe this is it, our last day is tomorrow and this amazing trip will end.
As we jump out of bed this morning, we plan to drive around the island of Oahu and see the sights outside of the big city and what better way to see the sights than in a convertible Mustang. When the kids see our car they are estatic, they both urge me to put the top down as we head east towards Diamond Head. We drive through streets off the beaten track and see how well a lot of the locals live here in their massive mansions with their private beaches. Eventually we make it around Diamond Head, stopping along the way for photo's and scenic look outs until we reach the Hawaii Sea Life Park. Zinije and I came here as newlyweds and wanted to share the experience with the kids, the Dolphin show was their favourite. It was quite hot at the Sea Life Park, so we drove around looking for some safe swimming beaches, the first beach we found was nice and sandy, but the current was way to strong and signs were warning people to enter at own risk. So we continued north around the island until we came across Kaiona Beach Park, this beach was simply perfect
