We kick off today knowing we have been on holidays for 4 weeks, which  means we are at the half way point already.  Time has gone by so quickly.  We check out of our Stamford hotel today and travel around before we hit New york city.  We decide to have a late lunch at Applebees, a restaurant chain that sells Tex Mex cuisine, burgers etc and we get caught out by the size of the servings.  The kids meals are massive and don't even get me started on our dishes, we order a starter and two mains which was a big mistake, but our waitress assured us it wasn't that big.  We try to finish off our meals as to not waste food, but it is not possible and we don't feel so well afterwards.  As we roll out of the restaurant, it's time to make our way to New York City.  We have a pretty smooth run into the city traffic wise, but our GPS starts to give us problems as it tells us to go straight down Broadway Ave, only the road is closed, so we are on our own and manage just fine.  I drop off Zinije and the kids at our hotel and proceed on my own to drop off our rental car, as it makes no sense to drive around this city with parking being so difficult and outrageously expensive.  I drop off the car and walk about 5 blocks down Broadway Ave towards my hotel and it hits me, I'm in New York City, the city that never sleeps.  When I get to our hotel, this place is amazing, the elevators are a glass capsules that zoom me to the 42nd floor in a heart beat.  When I walk into our room, the kids are glued and sitting by our window and not by the tv for a change,  they are enjoying the hotels view of Times Sq and wow it is something special at this height.  We sit and take in the city views for half and hour and explore the streets, starting off with MM World, which the kids love, which is followed by the disney store and then Toys R Us.  Each of these stores are very well designed and targeted towards kids with rides and interactive sessions.  The Disney store sells remote control cars of Lightning McQueen, only the kids get to choose the body, wheels, accessories and build the remote car  themselves with the stores supervision.  Wow, Arion goes crazy, but there are so many things he wants to buy, so I explain to him to think of one thing he wants to buy and to let me know,  as these sorts of stores are everywhere.  He agrees and we move on and finish up on the steps at Times Sq enjoying some coffees and Ice Creams.  We have four full days in this giant city, I can't wait to explore it.

Excellent ....the Big Apple and mighty Times Sq. How's the Marriott? Central enough for you?
