We are all up nice and early today, due to the time zone differences from Europe and found ourselves running around the hotel room at 5am.  It's supposed to be spring, instead we start our first full day in the U.S.A with a forecast of cold temperatures and light rain throughout the day.  The kids are not happy, as to them this forecast means we can't take them to an outdoor playground.   We have an enjoyable breakfast and chat to our waiter about how much and what has changed in Stamdford in the 8 years since we've been away.  Our waiter explains there has been a lot of new development and a major clean up of existing buildings to improve the Stamford downtown area.  After breakfast we walk to a nearby shopping mall as it's just too cold to be outdoors for the kids, we split up into two groups to explore the mall. The girls go off to find clothes and the boys off to explore the electronics.  The first shop Arion want's to jump into, is a gaming store as he want's to see the new Nintendo 3ds that has come out.   As soon as I walk in, I notice the prices, games and consoles alike are so much cheaper compared to Oz, we are getting ripped off back home.   We continue exploring the mall and for it's innovative gadgets and catchup with the girls for light lunch.  The kids are tired from the walking, so we decide to take our 4WD for a spin and drive along route number one from Stamford up to Westport.  It's a nice comfortable drive and allows us to remember the  places of where our old friends used to live, favourite restaurants, shops etc.  We turn left when we reach Darien and head for little town called New Cannan for a coffee.  We find a French bakery in this New England town and enjoy some coffees/waters and desserts.  We enjoy the rest of our drive and make it back to Stamford around 6:30pm right on time for dinner.   Tonight we will be dinning  at one of our favourite Japanese restaurants called Kujako, we request the teppanyaki style of cooking with some sushi and kids love it.  Watching our chef slice and dice the food right in front of our eyes was very entertaining for the kids.  It was a lot of fun being back at this restaurant, immediately after we head back to our hotel by foot while walking past the other lively Stamford restaurants.  The rain has finally stopped, hopefully the weather improves tomorrow.
