We sleep until 8:00am this morning and I plan to be at Zurich airport before 11:00am.  We get ourselves cleaned up and head down for some breakfast, and there was a really nice Swiss man trying to entertain the kids by asking if they would like Hot chocolates, bringing them pencils and paper to draw pictures.  It worked very well on Lisiana, Arion on the other hand wasn't interested, he was urging us to leave as he was excited about our next stop New York.  We are all excited about visiting New York next, it's a place which Zinije and I haven't been back to since 2003 and a place the kids know so much about thanks to movies like Madagascar.  So we complete our breakfast and thank the kind man for his efforts and leave our hotel in the direction of the airport.  It takes us only 10 minutes to get there from the centre of Zurich, I return my rental car and tell them the issues I had with my GPS on the 4th day, they apologise, refund my money in full and don't even check the device.  Got to love the Swiss, everything is based on trust, we thank the lady from Avis and line up to check in our bags with about 2 and half hours prior to our flight. It was quite busy at Zurich and I forgot one key thing, we were flying to the U.S.A which means, the process of security & passport checks would be more thorough.  When we finally make it to our gate, they are boarding our plane and we were one of the first ones there, which means our plane got slightly delayed.  We taxi out to the runway and begin our take off and Arion is waving and saying "Bye Bye Switerland", but with an English accent, it surprises me but I join in as well.  It's a seven hour flight, the kids do really well, thanks to the Swiss Airline entertainment systems, which have plenty of cartoons, games, and movies.  They even have a section called "Are we there yet", which will show the kids how long to go, and where we are on our flight path.  As we land in JFK, people start to clap on the plane, it surprises Arion and he wants to know why they are clapping as this is different to our last four flights.  I tell him they are thanking the pilots for efforts in landing the plane safely, I have flown all over the place and the only other place I've seen people clapping on a plane is when I've landed in Mexico, so it's not that unusual.  We get off the plane and walk towards immigration and Arion tells me, he forgot his Nintendo DS on the plane, Zinije runs back and just makes it before they close the plane doors and is able to retrieve it, much to Arion's relief.  When we get to the immigration line, it's really long, it has about 10 twists until we make it to the front, it looks like we will be here for at least a couple of hours.  Twenty minutes has past and we haven't moved that much forward, the kids start to argue after a long flight as they are tired.  Lisiana starts to cry, an officer who sees her, approaches us and requests we leave the queue and sit on some chairs at the back of line.  Then 5 minutes later we are escorted to the front of the queue, we thank the officer for his assistance.  We pass immigration and head to our baggage carousel and it's packed full of bags, as everyone is still stuck in the immigration lines.  We pick our bags, pass customs and catch a small air train to the car rental station, this airport has improved a lot since 2003, as back then I had to catch an orange bus to the car rentals which took forever.  As our rental car details are being finalised, the lady that is serving us is fantastic, we have a good chat about our holiday, the weather and petrol prices and in between she mentions that she will upgrade us for free from a sedan to a four wheel drive as it's safer, plus sleet and snow has been forecasted for the next few days in New York.   We thank the lady for her amazing service, jump into our 4WD and head for the rush hour roads of New York.  It's 6pm and 39 degrees Fahrenheit which is almost 4 degrees celsius,  its pretty busy until we get out of the main road leading to the airport and then it's pretty clear most of the way.  We reach our hotel in Stamford around 7pm and both the kids are asleep.  After check in,  I request the kids to stay up a little longer to help them adjust to the time zone a little easier the next day, their body clock is 1:30am so it takes bit more effort for them to agree.  We ahead across the road to a buffalo wings and grill place, it's close, quick and tasty.   Lisiana is fully awake now and is enjoying the atomosphere of this sports bar/grill restaurant, it takes Arion a little longer to join in but he eventually does.   We enjoy some local boneless wings, with beers and coke and head back to the hotel for a well deserved rest at 9pm.
