Here we go again:)
Now we want to reflect some on our last journey, that we did last week, just in time before university and all the chaos started! :) We left Liberia the morning of wednesday around 5 o`clock to take the bus towards Puntarenas. We almost missed it though, since we had trouble to open up the door of our house, but somehow it always works out here (important to remember!). Three houres later we got a gentle welcome by the ocean and then sun, that was already standing high in the sky. After a couple of coffees and a simple, but nice breakfast, we continued with another bus towards Quepos, that's also located at the beach and in the south of Costa Rica (towards Panama). Thanks to our most important guide, Lonely Planet *hehe*, we found this very chilled and laid back hostel called `Wide Mouth Frog Hostel`, that offered us for only 10 Dollar a night an inviting pool, a big comunal kitchen, TV-room and nice dorms, that we shared with 3 girls from the States and one girl from Switzerland. Since food is farely expensive here, we decided to only grab some fresh fruits and some bread, before we went down to the beach side. Quepos itself is pretty touristy, or at least we didnt feel like the big and only tourist attraction in town anymore, due to all the `gringos`(so called Americans, they are just everywhere!). So we took it easy that day, relaxing later on at the pool with a cold Imperial (costaricans beer, very delicious*g*), watching a movie and meeting people from all over. The next morning we headed towards the Manuel Antonio National Park, that is only a 20 minutes busride away from Quepos and there we finally found PARADISE :) Paradise only costs 10 Dollar to get in there and then we took off for ourselves, exploring the dschungle-like forrest and its beaches. We got accompanied by monkeys, slothes and iguanas, that were always at our side and, as we found out later, were the biggest tourist attraction. Whenever you think about cute, little monkeys, forget about it NOW! While one of them took everybodies attention on himself, posing and performing for us, the other one meanwhile stole the food of our friend and ran away with it!! Luckily we didnt brought any food with us in our ourses, otherwise: Ciao money, ciao camera! They are so mad, becoming really agressive, if you dont give them, what they want!! *argh*
But we really enjoyed this beautilful surrounding, the blue water and tropical forrest (watch out for falling coconuts*g*), the sun and silence, since we were almost the only ones at the whole beach! If you would find such a beach in Europe or elsewhere, it would be totally crowded with people!!
On the way back we found this cute pirate restaurant, that offered an awesome view over the valley and an even better sunset, that made the whole day just perfect!
The next morning then we headed towards Jaco, that is only 2 hourses away and more knows as a surfers paradise! Aileen and I found out, that its more a paradise for woman, since there were only cute surfer boys and almost no woman! :) After all that time in Wernigerode! *haha* But after the third time of `Oh chicas, sexy sexy` its also more attention than one can take :)
We stayed in a small surfers place as well, sharing one bed the first night but happy, to have a cheap place to stay:) The following days passed by fast, chilling at the beach, reading and getting totally sunburned (we really must work on our teint!!). For the first time since we arrived to Costa Rica it felt like we `come down`, putting away our worries and just settle down some. We met up with some other friend, that we got to know during the orientation session in San Jose and two guys we met at the airplane. So the days and nights just passed by too quickly for us to realize, that we are really here and that we are really going to live and study here.
Sunday we took the bus back to Liberia and here we are again, preparing for our first day in class and being all excited about how this will go:)
