We had a mini-breakfast at the train station as our hotel was for room only. We were along in our first-class compartment on the train. We changed in Osnabruk to a car without compartments. We mostly read and watched the scenery. In Hamburg, I called the Oppermanns, and we agreed to come the next day. After an inquiry at the tourist office, we chose to go to Celle.

We found a wonderful hotel next to the train station (Hotel Slater) which was still in the process of being remodeled. We walked into town and had a good German meal. Returning to our hotel, we got lost in the park, and I injured my leg in the spielplatz. Despite the swelling, we both managed a good night's rest.
