Where I stayed
Rob saw a taco stand and asked if I wanted to split one so I said yes and proceeded to watch Robbie on a ride. When I returned, he had the most bizarre food item I have seen in a while. He bought 2 walking tacos. I don't know if anyone has ever heard of them before but they are probably the least healthy things you could ever eat. It was a small bag of doritos, ripped down the side, with taco meat, nacho cheese sauce, tomato, lettuce and shredded cheese dumped in as well. He told me he didn't know what it was when he ordered it but I'm not so sure about that. I shared mine with the kids. I have to admit it was tasty but I could feel my arteries clogging.
We left the park as it started to rain and a little later than we anticipated. The rain followed us as we left and started to get heavy. We changed travel plans at the last minute and opted for a campground not far from the highway rather than up in the mountains as originally planned. We did not want to drive on mountain roads in the wet, rainy, darkness. We arrived safely, cooked up some dinner and played a couple of board games. Sorry no pictures today( I forgot my camera in the RV)
We have had a fabulous time on this memorable trip but we are all ready to come home. I think we have had our fill of living in a 31 foot by 8 foot motor home. everyone is ready to spread out a bit and gain back some privacy. Nothing like an RV to bring a family together, literally. As great as it has been, and it really has been a trip to remember, I am ready to stop moving 3 things to get to the one item I need as we are tightly packed. Also, I never thought I would say this but I miss my washer and dryer! Using the campground laundry gets old, and expensive quick.
There are a number of great things about RVing. The sound of the rain on the roof can lull you to sleep in no time(even though we have not had much of that) .Almost all of the people we met, from campground owners to fellow campers have been wonderful. You couldn't as for a friendlier, more helpful bunch of people. Traveling in a moving apartment makes it much easier on the family than being in a car,suv or van. There is room to move around, grab a snack, even make a quick lunch and use the restroom. Having a kitchen travel with you definitely helps the eating expenses and provides healthier choices. I would not have planned this trip any other way and I would do it again( just not right away). I will try to make one last entry tomorrow on our way home.
