This city is our last stop on the Trans Siberian Railway. Most of the city's buildings are very simple. However, Ulan Ude boasts with the world’s largest Lenin’s head. The huge bronze monument is 7.7 meters long and it weights 32 tons. Communism is still in fashion in the street art in many Russian cities. This one surprised us the most. Its huge!!!

We finally see more and more oriental faces on the streets. It seems like Baikal has acted as a natural barrier to the ethnical exchange. We also notice that everyone stares at us. It gets that bad that we start to avoid people’s eyes and just walk straight without paying much attention to the locals. From now on we know that we will look different to the local people and that we will feel like aliens until we reach Australia. Some tourists we meet later tell us that locals have even taken pictures of them.

We stay in a hostel where we finally meet our first cockroach of the trip. We (well Agi!) kindly let it out in the garden. Our room doors can not be closed properly and we (again Agi!) also managed to break a bed. Shhhh!
