We took the train to Krasnoyarsk at 22:35 local time (Moscow +3hrs). Our train started at Novosibirsk and its final destination was Vladivostok where it arrives four days later. We reach our destination the morning after at 11:23 local time (Moscow time +4hrs).

The number of the train was 008 and from what we understand that the lower the number of the train, the better the train should be. For us it was not the case, the train was again not comfy and noisier than the others (As a comparison the nice train we had from N.Novgorod to Yekaterinburg was train Number 056!?!).

This time the provodnista was a guy and he was even more miserable than the typical women provodnista. But we did not have to talk too much with him as it was much shorter journey than usual, so it was ok.

What we have noticed in Russia, especially in Moscow tube, and it happens often in the trains corridors as they are small, is that people rather than saying sorry or excuse me to pass through, they remain quiet and push you to make their way!?! We are so annoyed by this behavior but it seems that this is the way they do over here and it will be very difficult to change this!

We had two Russians guys in our compartment that did not know each other before the journey. Agi did not want to talk with them so Rudi did the sign language for our organization in the compartment! But then Agi listens to them talking about us and foreigners in general. That was quite interesting as otherwise we never now what they really think of us. In general, they are proud as always that people visit their GREAT country, but they dislike the fact that we keep it to ourselves and don't socialize with them. Russians like to show of their wealth no matter how small or big it is. But not always people want to try their fish that has not seen a fridge for several days. Or drink alcohol on every single trip we take. Tourists are strange people according to them – why waste all that money and not buy a car or put a deposit for a house?

We woke up in the morning with a landscape similar than the one we had between Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk and it then changed to more trees and greens. We can already notice that some trees are already getting yellow/orange meaning autumn has already started…

While observing the landscape Rudi keeps an eye on the kilometers along the railway track that are indicated every kilometer since Moscow. And according to the lonely planet guide, there should have been an obelisk at 3932km indicating the halfway between Moscow and Beijing on the Trans Mongolian route. But we saw nothing!?!

Krasnoyarsk is 4098km from Moscow and we are now closer to Beijing than Moscow.
