Note: This entry again is a description of what happened in the train (not in the actual city of Omsk).

We left Yekaterinburg at 20:05 (18:05 Moscow time) for our second night-train on the Trans-Siberian railway to go to Novosibirsk. When we arrived in the compartment, two Russian guys were there and Agi spoke a lot with them with a help of few beers.

By 11pm, everybody was asleep and when we woke up early in the morning the two guys were gone and there were two women instead.

In the evening, it was obviously all dark and there was not much to see outside of the window but when we woke up the landscape was finally different. Although we had now entered the terrestrial biome of Taiga that is mainly coniferous forests we saw fields of small birtch trees and grasslands!!

On that journey the train was not modern as the previous one but the service ladies 'provodnicas' were very nice (even to us!!).  The train was very loud and not comfy but what we’ve noticed is that trains are mostly on time. As usual, we were able to watch the interesting sellers on the platforms with police passing by without saying anything.

The Trans-Siberian railway is in a surprisingly good state with new tracks everywhere. The tracks are double all the way through and you will be amazed to see how much traffic is running in both directions day and night. Unlike in England, repairs are done with trains running and we understand that otherwise it would not be possible even for 1 night.

We arrived in Novosibirsk at 17:36 local time (Moscow + 3hrs).
