I woke up this morning feeling just like I did yesterday morning. I was lying on the floor with my ribs hurting. The mattress had deflated once again during the night; I was not a happy camper, or I mean house guest.
We didn't do very much today at all. Alex and I lounged around the appt. again till about 11 when the Denver Bronco/Buffalo Bill game came on. (It was about that time that Amber left for her parent's house up in Loveland, another suburb of Denver, to do some homework. She knew how loud Alex got when the Broncos played.) Something I learned about Alex is that he is a huge Bronco fan. The game came on; he ran to get his Champ Bailey jersey out of the closet and put it on. I dont know about anyone else, but when a person wears a jersey of their favorite team and are not in public for anyone to see them wearing it; then that tells me that the person is a true fan.We ordered pizza from Pizza Hut and enjoyed the entire game. It was a nail-biter too; the Broncos kicked a field goal while the clock was still running to win the game by one point as time expired.
The game ended and so we lounged around for the rest of the afternoon till about 5. I had decided that I needed to get out and do something so I would not feel like the day had been wasted. I went out for a brisk walk about 530 around the neighborhood. I made a couple phone calls to make the time go by fast.
I made it back to the appt. and watched some more TV. Alex then asked me where I was going to go in the morning. I guess I could have stayed with him and Amber again but I wasn't too excited about sleeping on the deflated mattress again. Alex has a job as a tree trimmer for the Davey Tree Expert Company and Amber is a full time Graduate student at Colorado University of Denver. With their full time schedules and the deflating mattress idea, I knew that I needed to leave.
Before I left for this trip, I had thought about visiting some of the ski towns along I70 like Vail and Breckenridge. Maybe I would even head down to Aspen, I was just going to wing it and see what happened. I still wanted to stick to that idea and direction so that is what I told him. Then Alex made a suggestion about where I should go.
One of Amber's friends, Shannon who I met on Friday night at the bar, lives in a cabin down in Frisco. Frisco is a small town just 10 miles north of the popular Breckenridge. Shannon's dad has a friend named Rob who owns a construction company in Denver. He has a couple different houses and happens to own the cabin in Frisco that Shannon lives in. Rob lets Shannon live at this cabin as a caretaker and also allows many other people to come and stay at the cabin free of charge. I have not even met him yet and he is letting me stay at his place, how cool is that! Alex knew all about this situation and suggested that I come down here for a while. It sounded like a good idea to me so I told Alex to make the call. Shannon said it was cool for me to come down so that is what I plan to do in the AM. There is rain in the forecast for tomorrow; hopefully it won't be too bad.
