My departure is exactly two weeks away and I'm getting last things in place.  Making sure I have my school credits in order.  Buying last minute socks and gear.  Deciding what clothes to bring- I'm trying to carry just my big backpack and my small daypack- we'll see if I can do it!!  Doing all the austin stuff that I'll miss- especially eating tex mex and hanging out with friends/ family.  Cooking a lot.  Hoping that my school loans come in so I can pay off bills before I go :)

No photos of anything yet, since I'm still in the states.  But they're coming!!

I second that yay
I could be eating pizza with you right now, but instead I am investigating your blog. Let me know if they have a Pizza Hut in Africa. They did in India, and I had to go, just to see...We can compare notes! j

Pics of Socks
I don't know about anybody else but I'd love to see some pics of socks. You could do like a before and after thing. You know. Like here are the socks before I left and NOW here they are after I've traveled the world with them. Maybe I'm crazy. I'm just sayin'. Good luck with your final preparations. top of the pops.

Are you there yet?
Today is January 22, and I like to think you've landed safely and are in the throes of jet lag. Did you land safely? Are your senses overcome with the sights and smells of Arusha? (It just occured to me that this is my first blog entry - EVER!) Thanks for bringing me into the 21st century. We look forward to the first post from abroad. Love, Amanda
