Fan Mountains are probably best known for its several turquoise and light blue coloured lakes. The mountains are relatively easily accessible as well, as they are located in-between Dushanbe and Samarkand, a famous tourist destination in Uzbekistan. By the end of August the tourist season was however already ceasing and the four days I spent trekking there, I mostly got it all to myself
However, I might be becoming old as in the end of this trip I was extremely tired and really looking forward to going back home (to Bishkek, not to Finland). It was kind of a similar feeling that I got in the end of my previous travels in Myanmar after exploring Asia for 5 months. I used to think that the longer the trip is and the more places you see, the better, but I don't think I’d be up for a trip much longer than two months anytime soon, unless it’s combined with some working or studying. Of course South America would be an exception, and probably I’d find it hard to say no if someone came up with something irresistible at the right moment and right place.
