So I had a a few days in Beijing waiting for Aapo to come from Korea by a ferry. Didn't really get anything special done, but at least I shipped some more stuff back home (and I still have way too much weight in my backpack), washed laundry but that's about it. Couldn't even add photos on facebook, because as a result of the Uighur riots, it joined youtube and blogspot on the list of the blocked websites in China. As soon as Aapo arrived, we bought tickets to Chengdu for the next day. It was rather a dubious decision though as they didn't have anymore sleepers available so we had to take seats for this 28-hour journey, and we went for it despite those horror stories that I've heard about this "hard seat" class. Well, we have the tickets anyway, so we went to do some shopping, and armed with snacks and a bottle of baijiu, we're good to go!
