Marie, Lise and Elizabeth were in charge of the afternoon programme. First we went to the beach, where Marie and Elizabeth jumped in from the high warf, while Lise and I played "Ring a Ring o' Roses" in Danish and looked for fish.

Then we went sight-seeing. We went to the harbour, where the car ferry "Ida" still sails to Stubbekøbing on Falster every hour. We had large cones of ice-cream and I had strawberry jam on top--just as when I was a child but now seems rather sweet. We then saw the old restored windmill and then went to the forest. Here a large stone commemorated the purchase of the island in 1769 from the crown. There was also a passage grave from 3200 BC. The mosquitos almost ate us live so we hurried away to visit the manse garden, where they had a swing under a large red beech. Bales and I went to Marie's christening in that church in 1999. Now she is 11.

Jacob's actual birthday was celebrated in the evening with yet another family get-together. The first had just been a "family-get-together." This time we were at home at Jacob and Malene's in Bogø By. Jacob and Christian bonded while grilling venison fillets and steak while Malene had made a bunch of delicious salads. Tasted devine! This was followed by crépes suzette with an awesome orange sauce. Jacob also grilled some sausages for the children. My father rather had his eyes on them!

The weather was lovely and cool and a few spits of rain fell later. I stayed the night and slept in Lises room. It was hot but she was afraid of opening the window because spiders might come in. Her father explained the good work spiders do on keeping flies and mosquitos away. We then had it a tiny bit open. I managed to wrestle one of her three pillows from her :D.
