Home to Narrandera
We headed of bright and early, left at 6am on the dot to get through the city without the traffic. We expected that the kids would have still been exhausted and gone straight back to sleep – we were wrong, they were so excited they were buzzing and wide awake. The car DVD player was straight on to avoid the onerous question "Are we there yet?" (which we are sure to hear a lot more on our trip). We stopped at Wallan for the typical road trip breakfast “Maccas”!! Pretty much the rest of the day we drove, and drove and drove and drove. We stopped off at Shepparton for the kids to stretch their legs and Adam had a snooze in the van. Kids played at one of the best playgrounds, a huge one called KidsTown park. The slides were enormous. Toby enjoyed going down the big slides on his jacket so he'd go faster, squealing with delight all the way down.
Driving through Shepparton, kids loved seeing all of the colourful cows they were painted as Spiderman, Shrek, footy teams, fairies, dragons and heaps more (oh, they were statues not real cows). We stocked up at the SPC factory on our tinned fruit and will be eating tin fruit our entire holiday I reckon.
First night was at Narrandera Top Tourist at a supposed to be a 4star (lucky if it was a 2), but it did the trick, sleep & food.
