Beautiful setting - very green, lots of rice paddies, rivers and steep valleys covered in lush jungle. Our nicest guesthouse yet - looked like a hindu temple.

Went down to the Monkey Forest and, well, saw some monkey antics. Quite friendly little chaps but we still didn't like to get too close. One of them nicked Andrea's water bottle, unscrewed the top and tried to drink the contents. Most of the water went over him. Very amusing!

Oh yes, it was also Andrea's birthday whilst we were in Ubud but I won't say how old. We had a nice meal and went on to see a reggae band - Bali's answer to Bob Marley. They got everyone dancing, helped by the local 'Arak' moonshine.
